Upgrade Your Furnace Filter
Your home’s forced-air heating or cooling system helps to control dust
by filtering the air. A standard cheap fiberglass filter protects your
furnace from large dust particles and provides maximum airflow, but it
does little to reduce household dust. More expensive pleated filters
usually provide a good balance between cost and filtration efficiency.
These filters trap 80 to 95 percent of particles 5 microns and larger.

Remove Stains
If there are stains on the seats or on the carpet (and we guarantee
there will be, especially if you have kids!) try this homemade solution.
In a spray bottle mix two cups of water, one cup of vinegar and about a
tablespoon of dish soap. Spray the solution on the stains and let it
sit for 15 minutes. Then wipe clean with a wet cloth.

Fix a Sinking Home Air Conditioner Pad
The concrete pads under home air conditioner and heat exchanger units
tend to settle over the years. As long as there’s no strain on the
copper coolant tubes and electrical lines, and the unit stays dry and
level, it’s OK that the pad has sunk. But if it continues to sink and
pulls the lines tight, or if water puddles around the unit, you’ll need
to fix the sinking air conditioner pad.
